Location of collection:  State College, PA.  Suburban driveway.

Date of collection:  08/27/15

Habitat of collection:  My driveway in the suburbs of State College, PA

Length:  See pics for scale

Distinguishing characteristics:  Gave off an extremely potent and foul odor as I was trying to catch it.

Definitely Aphaenogaster. Not sure what species it is though there are a decent amount of species a long the east of North America. I'm thinking its either A. rudis, A. treatae or A.fulva.
