Hi all. First time post.

I recently (10days ago) got my first tube queen M. Mexicanus, giant golden honey pot ant.
I had first thought that the larvae with her were dead as some seemed to just roll around when moving the test tube, like small dry rice. However today I after taking a good look, I noticed a few are moving on their own.

I was wondering ...should I just keep leaving the tube alone? What will dead larvae look like? If they die or are dead, should I remove them or place the queen in a new tube? I'm following a care guide that says not to feed anything at this point. Temps in the room are 75-80F.

Just being paranoid I think?

I suggest leaving the tube alone for some time, there could be a chance they're alive and just need little time to develop

Those larvae look fine and alive to me

But maybe you should wait for a more experienced ant keeper

They are okay. They shrivel when they die and if they do she will usually eat them. Larvae don't like to move a lot they mostly only do it when their hungry.

she needs sand in there or else the larvae won't be able to pupate.
