Length:can't measure right now but posted a pic compared to a penny
Coloration:black
Time:12:30pm-1:30pm

Note:Crematogaster cerasi maybe?

If it is a shiny black queen found this time of year, my guess would be Crematogaster cerasi, but it could be lineolata. You would a microscope to see the hairs on the pronotum to know for sure. C. cerasi are far more common, though.

Thanks! I've never kept Crematogaster, but are they super hard to keep? They seem to need a really secure setup to prevent them from escaping.

They are not hard to keep at all. Containment is easy with the kind of setups you can see in my Crematogaster journal. They need lots of space, though.
