Finding Queens on Hikes - Need Advice

I’m up in the Rocky Mountains (Bailey, CO) this week and really hoping to find some elates while out hiking. I normally find my queens by walking around home (Denver) and spotting them on the sidewalk so finding queens out on a dirt trail/wilderness hike is new to me.

Any tips or tricks for finding queens while our hiking?

Over time you'll be able to pick out the shapes of queens running along the ground a lot better, but besides that you can flip rocks, logs, other things to check for queens hiding. Just make sure whatever you flip over, you put back as close to what it was as possible!
