Camponotus Petri Dish Nests?

My Camponotus, who are in test tubes, are not doing so great, and as many of us know, formicines in general don't thrive in test tubes. Would it be worth it to make some petri dish nests as described in the video below?

I find test tubes work great for formicines. I use large 1 inch diameter test tubes with Coco peat and I have great success rate. Petrie discs would most likely work well.
