Manica rubida are my favorite species.
They sparked my love for ants as a kid and in my last journal "Story of my Manica Rubida Colony" I documented 3,5 years of keeping them.

Saldy they passed away in April leaving me with 937 of their corpses (counted them) and leaving behind a gigantic tank with a massive network of tunnels and chambers reaching every corner of the terrarium that I was able to explore after they were gone.

Those 3,5 years went amazing so I knew I had to take the first opportunity to start all over again.
Considering all that I've learned I know that I'm able to do it even better this time.
The terrarium was cool but this time I have a whole ant room to play with.
In honor of my last colony I can really go all in on this one.

The mail man brought me a gift.

These are on my wishlist, too, but first I want to gain more experience with some easier species.

The only thing that makes them harder to keep is their sensitivity to humidity.
They need a lot of moisture which makes the natural setup the most convenient.
If I create a good eco system in the terrarium I can keep the soil damp without the fear of mold or bacteria getting out of control.

Every one of my colonies has springtails and isopods for that reason
