- Caught in Honolulu, HI on 8/12/2023 at around 745pm
- Grassy Backyard (Blacklight)
- Approx 8mm
- Reddish/Light Brown; Shiny;
Thorax, mandible & stripes on gaster are darker in color
- One petiole node; tip of antennae (sections 10, 11, 12) darker in color; small eyes
- dug chamber about 4mm under rock in soil from yard. Chamber is approx 9mm

Yes Solenopsis geminata. Be careful they grow crazy fast and their sting hurts. If you look at antscanada fire ants you can see their care. If you don't want them to grow as fast then you could probably just lower their feeding, lower their temperature, and cull their population often.

@virginian_ants yes for sure! We watch alot of antscanada & others videos and have seen that series of his. Will be careful with her & see how she does. We have a little twig ant setup we caught in our backyard. Overall new so trying to learn hot spots in the area
