I acquired a Formica pacifica Queen from a nuptial flight last year. I'm glad to say that she now has her first worker! With 5 more on the way, and a nice pile of eggs. :D I will be moving them to a THA mini hearth soon.

When I lived in Washington state I was always looking for Pacifica, but i never caught any. I love their colors and I like seeing another ant keeper keep them.

Got the Queen, worker, and brood all moved over. Based on how dark some of the pupae is, I expect we'll have some new workers very soon.

We are up to five workers now! One more yet to enclose, and a nice new pile of brood.

It seems a bit early for them to be in a nest.

I think they'll be fine. It's just a THA mini hearth, and I've had great luck with them. Also their test tube was getting fairly low on water, so I was going to have to move them anyways.
