I made one of these aspirators but I’m not getting the results I expected. After testing it out on some nylanderia, tetras, and lasius it can barely grab the workers. I think it’s due to the size of my container. I used a gallon peanut container for this one.3CC9D5F4-9A00-4395-92C6-5BD20230C160.jpeg

Is the lid airtight? And yes, that might be due to its size. I probably wouldn't use anything larger than a 4 oz deli cup for the container.

Lids airtight. I don’t think it’s size because I just made a smaller one for a 2” x 2” x 4” acrylic container.

Did you also use that size of tubing for the acrylic container? It might be too big. Using a straw or something thinner would have more suction concentration than a big tube like that.

Way too big. Use a smaller jar.
