I'm about to get a new ant colony of Formica pallidefulva. Does anybody have any suggestions for an ant farm?


canada = boring!!!!!

also: Camponotus ca02 ( probably not possible though)

Well first things first, how big is the colony?

Get a Tarheel Ants mini hearth for them.

Mini Hearth might be a bit too small. I would go with a Mini Hearth XL. Even if they did fit perfect in the mini, they would very quickly grow out of it.

No, I have a colony of Formica around thirty workers and they are just fine in a Mini hearth. At this stage a XL would be too large for the colony.
