Looks like Solenopsis geminate to me.


I keep: C. modoc, C. sansabeanus  :D, C. maritimus, Formica argentea, M. mexicanus  :D, Odontomachus brunneus :D, Pogonomyrmex californicus, Pogonomyrmex rugosus,

Get a photo of the face from top down. Or you can determine between geminata and invicta by seeing if the head is rounder or more square like. It seems like a more square like head, leading me to think geminata however that photo could give you a better confirmation.

Wait, has anyone looked at Solenopsis on ant wiki, because there are no records of Solenopsis on Honolulu. This would be the first recording of Solenopsis there. Saying that it is definitely geminata.

There is not a lot of information on ants in Hawaii so i would'nt be surprised if something was missed.
