I was wondering. I have a Pogonomyrmex colony that recently just got badly hit with a mite infection and all I could manage is the queen and 4-5 workers. They were easily at 1,000-1,250 strong. However if I were to get those lone pogonomyrmex occidentalis workers off of Amazon for ant farms would that be possible to try the boost the colonies numbers?? Thanks.

I placed an order on amazon for 30 pogonomyrmex occidentalis workers. Any idea on how to try to introduce 1 worker at a time? I read somewhere that Pogonomyrmex accept lone workers when stressed or desperate.

I think I heard somewhere that you can wipe the sent off an ant by dipping them in bleach or vinegar for just a second or two, but I've forgotten which one it is maybe someone else on here knows.

Use hypoaspis mites. They will eat the other mites, although I have no idea were they are sold.

It’s vinegar - it’s discussed in the thread linked below.

The mites are gone for now fourtanetly. I am 23 and I still don't know how to spell fourtanetly. And this is what happens when you don't have grammerly on your browser. :)
