Aside from ants, what are you keeping or do you have? I thought it would be interesting to see what others in this hobby have as pets or kept prior. This includes dogs, cats, or whatever.

Here's what I currently have.

Fifteen different species of ants for a total of ???.

Ten different species of tarantulas for a current total of 50 tarantulas.

Three different species of beetles for a total of ???.

Six different species of mantids for a total of 13.

Three Scorpions

Multi-Species Terrarium Setup - Random Ant species, insects and some cool isopod species

Multi-Species Paludarium Setup  - Fish and amphibians

Two Dogs (Border Collie and Australian Shepherd)

Diamond back Doves

Button Quails

Prior Kept

Way too Much to type but lots of fish, insects, ants, and birds.

I've kept a massive amount over the years, but here are the notable ones that I recommend everyone try keeping:

Bark scorpion, Centruroides gracilis: nice looking scorpion, communal, easy to breed. The scorpion mating ritual called "promenade à deux" is something every hobbyist should see at least once. They are quite literally doing the tango lol

Flag tail centipede, Alipes grandidieri: beautiful species with a unique "tail" and they will make a hissing/rattling sound with their terminal legs--a very cool sight.

Redclaw crawfishCherax quadricarinatus: amazing colors, ridiculously long antennae (reminds me of Shenlong), and absurd growth rate. They molt monthly, eat everything, and are super active/curious.

Alligator lizardElgaria multicarinata: highly underrated native socal species of lizard. They come in a variety of colors, easy to breed, and they get quite large. Stunning, long tails and they are actually semi-prehensile! Aggressive feeders, will actually hang and hunt upside down.

Currently keeping:

Ants: Around 11 colonies. 10 different species. Plus 3 termite pairs, two subterranean pairs and a drywood pair.

Beetles: 2 devil's coach horse larvae, temporary. Hoping to start beetle-keeping with scarabs sometime.

Cleanup: A few Armadillidium isopods and some earwigs.

Amphibians: A California slender salamander, will probably release it soon.

Aquatic: Some brine shrimp, although they haven't reached adulthood yet, as well as 3 comet goldfish and a little Otocinclus catfish.
