Hello mazmurlo. Bootytickler123 here, after the years of me antkeeping in california I have realized that camponotus pennslivus is a exotic and illegal species to keep in the state of California. So me, and many included ask this question, are these illegaly kept? If released they will cause great panic in california and slowly take over the state. Please kill them now if they are illegal. This species is exotic.

Also Bumblebee Antsemporium aka the owner, garret is a bad person and faked permits. So if you buy from him you are also keeping stuff illegaly.

 

Bro you are the most stupid person i have ever seen on this forum. I have bought from Garret and i have gotten permits and they are real. So unless you have real proof, I think you should just delete you account

Just calm down. That was an alt made by stricky. All of his alts were banned except for his main account. He was being a troll.

Tons of workers. They still don't want to hibernate yet, with tons of pupae and large larvae.

I'd remove the heat cable. Just to help them prepare for diapause.

Yeah, I agree with @ColAnt735. Take off that heating cable, but avoid hibernation for a while. Those ants are still running in 6th gear.

Images coming tomorrow, but they've been doing great. They survived spending over a month in storage with no food, 90+ F temps, and no water. They've never tried to hibernate, the queen's just been laying and they've been doing real swell. I'll probably start a Camponotus fragilis and Pogonomyrmex californicus journal later as well.

Queen mysteriously died. They never tried to hibernate, perhaps she just overworked herself to death? We'll never know. RIP, she really was a great queen.
