You can only boost her with brood from the melliger group ie. mendax, melliger, semirufus, placodops. Mexicanus or navajo brood would likely be not excepted.

May I ask why she is in the danger zone. Her only having about 7-8 cocoons is not a bad thing.

After research it is very common for pots to die during or after founding.

But more cocoons isn’t going to magically make her not die. I suggest to not freak out and just let her be. My success rate with honey pots has been quite high. That is because of two things. Me LEAVING THEM ALONE and letting them be adequately heated. Also that is a rare occurrence as Urban says in the video. Queens do random things all the time. Wait until an actual study I’d pit out before you trust one sighting. I know Urban and he is an incredible ant keeper but I still wouldn’t base anything off of on experiment. I hope I’m not coming off as harsh but you don’t need to go too extreme lengths for a queen. She will figure it out and if she doesn’t, there are always more fish in the sea.

Well there is another reason I love brood boosting.
I’m impatient.

Just let her be and give her time. That species while heated only takes like a week and a half till workers, if that.

As mentioned above, if she already has workers and her own brood, boosting likely won't due anything in terms of improving her survival rate. The best thing you can do is provide good conditions and feed well.

Additionally, I have a hard time believing you have permits living in Florida. They are probably the strictest state due to all the agriculture that takes place there, even laboratories can't get them, so a hobbyist having them seems unlikely. Not that I care either way, but lying about having permits is a worse offense than not having them to begin with, so be careful with that.

Hi everyone! I have a Myrmecocystus Mendax queen with 7-8 cocoons. She is in the danger zone and I don’t want her to die. I need any Myrmecocystus cocoons. I have a permit to buy or sell ants in the US. Name your price and I will private message you info. You will be shipping to my colleague who will be shipping to me. He is in NY. He agreed because I am very cautious and I don’t want anyone knowing my exact address. Thank you. If you have any questions ask away. If you want to hear my M. Mendax queens story go below in my journal. And when I mean cocoons I mean like 20 or 30.

Definitely not in the danger zone, my depilis queen only has one cocoon at the moment and that's 100% because of me checking on her too often and messing with her test tube setup. I've now moved her one last time and will try not to bother her as much.

I think they can accept from Mexicanus , because I tried give semirufus's brood to  Mexicanus, and it works.

Leaving post after post with nothing but "deleted" is basically spamming. Please stop. There is no reason for it.
