I went ot the Mojave desert today and caught 4 different species that I need help identifying/ confirming identification
Sp. 1 crematogaster I think

I’m not that great with desert ants, but I’ll try:

1. Definitely Cremas, couldn’t tell which species
2. Veromessor, couldn’t tell the species
3. Myrmecocystus placodops?
4. Pogonomyrmex rugosus

2. Veromessor, couldn’t tell the species

4. Pogonomyrmex rugosus

2 kinda' looks like Novomessor crockerelli, and the Myrmecocystus could be semirufus as well.

2 is Novomessor cockerelli, 3 is Myrmecocystus placodops.

5th is Dorymyrmex bicolor? Probably wrong though.

You won’t have much luck IDing the crema until it has workers. Also that 5th queen is definitely D. bicolor.

The second species is definitely novomessor cockerelli, the 4th is pogonomrymex rugosus, and 5th is likely D.bicolor. The 3rd is likely M. placodops
