I saw this in today’s Washington Post. Though it doesn’t state the species studied, the author touches on Apis melifera but he suggests that he’s looked at other species as well.

The article comes from work by Lars Chittka that he expands on in his book, The Mind of a Bee. Chittka provides a link to a preview of his book in the article.
