Got a small colony of around 20 workers, decent brood pile.

This is a low elevation variety of C. Vicinus so its workers and queen are considerably smaller then the High elevation varieties.

Agreed! I have a high elevation C. Vicinus too and they are gorgeous.

I offered then a THA formicarium and they moved in overnight.

They are really good looking. I've found offering them fruit flys increases their growth.

I agree. They feed off of insects primarily around the areas I have seen colonies seems like. Will be getting some feeder crickets.

25 workers and steady brood pile. They are growing quick.

Fed some maple syrup and mealworms.

Build them an enclosed formicarium using my laying log nest I build out of Firebrick and then dipped in Concrete mix to coat interior.

Curious to see if they like it!

I ended up holding off on the Low Elevation species as it is not as far along and don't want to give too big of a new home. The brood pile is staying consistent and new eggs daily so they will be up in size in a few more weeks.

I did move my larger colony, High land variety into this formicarium and they love it, https://www.formicul...high-elevation/
