4. Length (from head to gaster): 8-10mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: dark brown to red.  Noticed reddish workers nearby which were slightly smaller.

Formica rufibarbis??????? Google lens came up with that result

Looks like Formica pallidefulva or a similar species.
