Its a camponotus major. Sadly not a queen.

Yeah, sad I didn't get a queen last night but glad to know now where to go to find one. Was thinking it was c. Sansabeanus? If so, I think I'm a month late for queens. ☹️

Yeah, this is likely C. sansabeanus or C. semitestaceus.

Thanks for the ID! Would love to go back and find a queen. Am I too late in the year for us-ca02 nuptials? I didn't notice them listed on the north american or southwest trackers.
