Here's a video I made a year or so ago. I never got an ID for them, although I think they're either Lasius pallitarsis or Lasius flavus.

They look really Lasius-ish to me, but I can't remember what the Lasius is that's pale orange and covered in a sheeny fine pubescence. Maybe something closely related to flavus?

Yeah that's what I thought. They appear to be subterranean ants.

The slightly darker coloration on the head and gaster in comparison to the thorax reminds me more strongly of Lasius pallitarsis than Lasius flavus.  But it could easily be either one, or one of the other yellow Lasius present in BC that I am not familiar with.

I think that Doctorant told me that Lasius pallitarsis are very common where I live, so yeah I think they're Lasius pallitarsis.
