I live in south Texas close to the coast. I found these after a rain the first one was by a cement side walk and the second was in a park. The second one appears to be polygynous I saw multiple queens digging a nest. I think they are some type of fire ant but I’m not sure. Sorry for the bad pics I tried my best.
