Hey!
How do you make Carpenter anta calm down? My Camponotus Floridanus’s outworld is untouchable, as they make living bridges across fluon.(It’s kind of them crawling over each other). I need to clean the outworld and take the empty feeder out, how would I go about this?

Tips are appreciated, Thanks!

In my experience, camponotus usually go crazy in the outworld when they are hungry. Fill up their feeder and give them some protein and they should be fine.

You probably need a bigger outworld with better ventilation, too.

I agree, my Camponotus colonies get crazy when hungry. Quickly throw in a new sugar feeder and come back a couple minutes later. By then they should all be calmed down and happily feeding

They are the most fed colony I have, giving them 3 crickets(dead) a day and about 30 fruit flies a day. Feeding them makes them have no majors in the outworld…

They do need a bigger outworld, and I have been looking at making my own.

Also, the feeders isn’t empty. It is just the ants decided they would pull sand from under it(It tilted) and then, one day it fell. Now, only 3 holes in the feeder have a nectar supply…

Could I pull the feeder out and put it in an empty container with fluon(So I could gather the workers), and then refill it? Or would this not be ideal…

In that case, they probably need a bigger nest.

I mean agree with Manitant here but for the feeders just shake off the workers

They occupy about 60% of it, and they have always tried to dig, even when I moved them into this nest at 20 workers.
