Hello Ant people of Sacramento, I'm not sure if we have many but I've noticed a couple on Formiculture and noticed there wasn't a topic for Sacramento so I took it upon myself on creating one, so how many ant nerds do we have, maybe we can share ant species we have caught here, or where, and maybe when, and maybe we alert each other for nuptial flights. At the moment I have recently caught several Campontous Hyatti Queens, a liometopum occidentale queen, and I have a small tetramorium colony.

P.S. (I got inspired to make this from the SF Bay Area Anters Topic)

And tbh I don't know any amazing anting spots, but if you don't know any at all I could let you know if you asked where I've had luck finding queens.

I live about an hour north of sac, so I'm not too far from there. I'll post in here and share it with a few others.

Damn, that's alot of ants wish I had that many, I've been interested in ants for a few years like 2-3 but only actually caught a queen 2 years ago, right now I just got:

-14 Campontous queens, caught 2 weeks ago

-1 Liometopum occidentale, caught 2 weeks ago also

-1 Tetramorium colony 5-10 workers

Also did you purchase your Acromymex Colony?

I live in midtown /south sac. I don’t really catch or look for queens, I usually buy. But I have seen, just by walking around, solenopsis molesta queens in midtown and tetramorium immigrans queens in Elk Grove
