They haven't grown very much since the last update. I have still been feeding this colony every day, and they have both a sugar water and a regular water feeder now. 5844ef2efa9e280f331f2b6739e601e9.jpgb5a34ebb1cb5ef9846085edc4113bd56.jpg

Turns out that these "treatae" are actually ashmeadi. A. ashmeadi are similar to treatae but are slightly smaller and with smaller lobes (1/5 length of the scape, compared to 1/4 length of scape in treatae)

This is currently the easternmost record of ashmeadi on inaturalist and northernmost on the East Coast. It should have been fairly obvious when looking at the lobes but I kinda just... never checked. Fortunately Aaron pointed it out to me yesterday and I've changed everything from treatae to ashmeadi.

Colony 2: I got this colony around a month ago and they are doing quite well. They are in a naturalistic formisquarium.

Nice work. I got a good update on my treatae in the works.
