Did the larvae emerge from the queen and what's the queen been doing with that in the test tube?

Been keeping ants since January of 2021

I've had these guys before. What the larvae do is they will eat the insides of the queens gaster and then emerge as a pupae. What this means is that unfortunately, your queen is infertile and doomed.

i do not really care because this queen has been on my table for a while without laying eggs

Which further confirms that she is infertile. But parasites aside, you should always be able to find more Lasius neoniger, so this isn't too big of a loss.

and her having a parasite inside her is exactly why she didn’t lay eggs. The parasite renders the queen infertile.

were there any tiny tunnles in the cotton? Or fluffs on the floor of the test tube? I kinda wanted to know what it was/what it looked like.
