Well, I geuss my mom finally flipped out about me keeping ants in the house. At this point, I'm completley out of ideas (well besides the idea where I move my ants outside...altho I'm afraid my ants are going to get invaded by other species living in my back yard+I'm never going to convince my parents because when they make a decision, they stick to it). Any advice would be great :).

Ants outside should be fine as long as they don’t have any open lid. Maybe add mesh? You could keep them on a back porch if available.

Do you have a garage? That usually works.

A well planned, written presentation is a great idea. Also try to get on GAN and start bringing in some cash. That changed my wife’s tune; bet it would help with your folks, too.
A lot of kids your age are sitting around in their pjs all day smoking dope or worse. Your parents should thank their lucky stars you’re actually learning about the natural world. Keep your head up. Soon enough, you’ll be on your own making your own rules.

I made a presentation to my parents about letting me keep ants and it convinced them.

I made a powerpoint to get my snake and it worked.

If all else fails, just keep your ants in like a box or something and put it under your bed.

Some far-fetched solutions:

-Cover every surface in your house with PTFE so it's like an ice rink for ants

-Train Colobopsis soldiers to patrol around your formicariums and stop ants from escaping

-Hypnotise your parents so they let you keep ants inside

-Create a hole in the space-time continuum and keep ants in there

-Make a rap out of every ant species ever discovered and impress them so much they would let you keep ants in a pantry

Not funnny? Hehe...

Some realistic solutions:

-Sell some queens and pay them, like ANTdrew recommended

-Powerpoint presentation

-A persuasive document (the longer the better)

If you need materials for your powerpoint you can pm me your email, I recall writing up a document to help a friend convince their parents when I was starting out, maybe 2-ish years ago. I'll share it with you.

Same here. Send me the slides, and I’ll give em an old school English teacher proofread free of charge.

There was an AntsCanada YouTube video on this actually, it was made back when his content used to be good quality material instead of clickbait. If it doesn't help, then I guess all the other ideas listed above will.

I agree with ANTdrew. I started making money selling ants a couple years ago and I haven't heard a single complaint from my parents since.

Well, for one thing I have no Idea how to sell ants, and another thing is that my parents are really really really (I mean like REALLY) paranoid about ants destroying the property and if they ever try to sell the house it'll be in bad shape. Convincing would be nice butttt, I put that Idea to the side already. Back to the selling ants thing, I'm not sure my parents would be okay with me selling ants (this is a guess because I don't know much about selling as I mentioned, so it could potentialy work). One major thing is the question of how I'm supposed to get an ant to somebody else once they purchase it? I also btw have never BOUGHT ants before either. Just thought of soething else, I'm going to have to keep the ants for a while in order to sell them right...(my mom probably wouldn't let me keep them for even a second, this is so complicated arghhhhh)? Springs coming just in time

Just explain that you have to keep them in order to sell them, kind of like a warehouse. Personally I will either meet up with the person I'm selling to or I will ship the colony to them if they are in my state and would rather have it shipped.
