Can I find termites in the winter?

I only have mealworms since my local pet store isn't stocking fruit flies at the moment. My ants all are getting a little sick of mealworms so I was thinking about collecting termites. So can they be found in the winter? I looked in a log like a month ago and didn't find any.


My favorite queens/colony’s:
Pheidole Tysoni, Selonopis Molesta, Brachymyrmex Depilis, Tetramorium Immagrians, Prenolepis Imparis, Pheidole Bicirinata

After this cold stretch, I imagine our local species are deep underground at this point. I would order feeder insects online if I were you.
