Stigmatomma pallipes, or the Northern Vampire Ant, is one of the more elusive ants in North America. They're known for being centipede specialists, feeding mostly on geophilomorph, or soil centipedes, and for the fact that they drink the hemolymph (blood) of their larvae. Stigmatomma need high humidity, and need to be fed during hibernation.

We do not recommend this species for beginners

Pretty sure these photos aren't yours, at least the latter two. Those are of Stigmatomma pallipes from NJ.

Not if you account for the currency conversion ;)

(Not that I'm shipping them to the US, anyways)

Also, funny that the credits to the wild pictures were deliberately removed.

This seems like a scam. First of all, its a completely new account and this is their first post. They are also in california, a state where stigmatomma is quite rare and restricted to the north, while he claims to be in LA, and to my knowledge, no antkeeper in CA has found a stigmatomma colony with a queen, much less 10. The description and photos are also ripped from canada ant colony and another site.

This person has also set their profile picture as an image of Dr. Ted Schultz, a myrmecologist at the Smithsonian Institution, which is misleading, at best.

The entire post and profile needs some serious scrutiny.
