I know this might seem like a basic question but is it safe to use a heating cable on acrylic nests?

I know that heating plastic accelerates the release of nasty stuff like BPA so has anyone had experience heating acrylic formicariums for long periods of time without any issues?

I haven't personally used acrylic formicaria, but I doubt they would be sold by knowledgeable keepers like Jordan Dean if they were unsafe when heated.

Edit: grammar

Heat cables or pads do not generate enough heat to damage acrylic.

I second this. The only problem I have seen with heating my acrylic formicariums with a heating cable is that it can generate a lot of condensation.

A trick I use with my nests that I find lowers condensation is running the heat cable only under an edge of the nest, or running it over the top clear plate.

It does generate condensation, but moisture loving species love it :)
