I'm not going to move anytime soon(I hope) but if we do would I be able to bring my colonies with me? Let's say I move to Idaho, would I have to get permits to bring them?

Yeah, the same transportation laws would apply. But depending on how you move, you could probably still take some with you without anyone noticing or caring. If you fly, I wouldn't recommend trying to sneak tubes and formicaria full of ants past the TSA. But if you're driving or something, then nobody would be able to know if you had a few ants packed up in the luggage in your trunk.

If we do move, my friend has a private jet that we would fly in soooOOOOO. shhh
I can't claim to be very familiar with how private jets work, but given that they still have to take off from an airport, wouldn't you still have to go through the TSA screening?
