So last month I received a camponotus vicinus queen with a single worker and some brood from another local antkeeper. This colony has been growing quickly, and is already up to 8 workers. I've since moved them into a xl mini hearth.

Moved into xl mini hearth 8/11/2022. (Don't mind the stains, they are from when I kept my 2nd Pogonomyrmex colony in there.)

cool love camponotusb vicinus

They are cool, but they grow so slow. I've had mine for about 6-7 months and they have 7 workers.

Interested buying in ants? Feel free to check out my shop

Feel free to read my journals, like this one.

Wishlist:

Atta sp (wish they were in CA), Crematogaster cerasi, Most Pheidole species

This colony didn't grow much last year. However I'm hoping this year we'll see them outgrow the xl mini hearth they are living in.

The Queen for this colony has recently been laying eggs. I hope they grow well this year.
