Hey folks. This is my first time posting on here, but I was wondering if any of you could help me identify a queen and I was able to catch at my work. I found it around 8pm if that's relevant at all. A friend of mine suggested that it may be linepithema humile, but I'm not so sure. (I know these images aren't the best, but it is the best my camera could manage).

I'd really appreciate any help identifying what specific kind of and this is, and if there were any of you out there who have taken care of these kinds of ants too! Thankyou for your time and help folks.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Also, as I said it was in the evening, around 8pm and had been quite hot the entire day, but had been quite cold the entire rest of the week. I found it just crawling on a table I had to wipe down next to the bushes at my work. It is a suburban area really close to the sea.

Thank you very much! That definitely seems right from all the info I can find about them. Wish her (and I) luck.
