Hello everyone! I am from Melbourne, Australia and like many of you are fascinated by ants. I do not keep them (At one stage I did keep an iridomyrmex colony) and instead enjoy photographing and researching them. Looking forward to meeting some fellow ant lovers. Here are some photos I have taken of ants in bushland near my home.

Hello! The first one is Myrmecia pyriformis. Simillar in appearence to forficata but the dorsal surface of the  gaster and post petiole in pyriformis is covered in pubesence which is not present in forficata.
