I have a queen with 2 larvae (C. Novaeboracensis), do they need the minerals in water or is distilled ok? If it isn’t, does tap water work?

Any clean water is fine.

Btw, I’m using a THA mini hearth, so maybe should I use distilled for the water tower and something else for the nestmate?

That would be fine if you have it.

If you already have the distilled water, I would use that -- since it's completely devoid of minerals/organics, I find that it resists fouling much more than "normal" water (microorganisms cannot grow without the minerals/organics)

Like ANTdrew said though, either sources are totally acceptable
