I believe I have collected three species tonight, all at dusk.

I saw these taking off from their nests of yellow workers in the middle of my lawn. From my brief internet search, would these be Lasius brevicornis? They were everywhere in my yard. 7-8mm.

I'll try to get pics of the others soon.

Found a few of species 2. 5-6mm, not sure as they won't stay still. Tiny though. Temnothorax?

The second one seems to be Trichomyrmex.

1: Cautolasius sp. either nearcticus or brevicornis

2: Solenopsis molesta that probably has a fungal parasite in it's gaster, hence why it is black.

3: Solenopsis molesta, healthy specimen.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

I think you're right with molesta on #3. Not sure about #2 though, I have three just like that and they seem to be shaped slightly different than #2. I will try to get better pics.
