First Update:
Last week I managed to catch ten pheidole queens. They all were caught on my pool cover in the morning except for one who was caught at a blacklight. Eight of them were ID as pheidole tysoni, the one at a blacklight has been dubbed pheidole bicirinata. And the last queen is un-identified but is definitely a pheidole queen. And the last one is pheidole pilifera she is really small.
July 17th:
All of the pheidole tysoni queens have eggs! Some even have larvae. Six of the tysoni queens are solo and their are two pairs of two. This queen seems to have some small Larvae (1st photo)
The pheidole bicitinata is likely infertile :( she has two eggs on separate sides of the tube.
And the un-identified queen and the pheidole pilifera has and egg pile as well. This is a picture of the un-identified queen from an ID post (second photo)

Update:
All of the tysoni queens have meduim sized larvae now. Here’s a picture of one of the daul queen colony (1st picture) Both the queens are winged one of hem is out of frame though. I’m not sure if one of them in fertile or if they both are. The second picture is of the queen last week. The last picture is of what I think is bicarinata (she has eggs by her foot)

Update:
Holy heck! Workers! She has three so far the oldest is probably less than a day old so we should be getting more. It took a few days less than four weeks which is super impressive. They aren’t interested in any food but I’ll try again tomorrow. All the other tysoni queens have larvae and the pilifera and in-identified queen have larvae. I love how the workers act, they got angry when I opened the tube and when they found the food they dragged it into their trash pile ( it was a soaked cotton ball, and I also tried another food) they also waddle around too which is super cute.here’s a photo of the ants with sas

Update:
The OG tysoni colony is doing pretty good. They probably have 15+ workers now. The queen has been laying more eggs recently. I finally spotted a major larvae when a worker was trying to pick it up. I will need to move them soon.

I caught two more pheidole queens! The first one (2nd photo) is suspected to be bicirinata :D the second could also be bicirinata (3rd photo)but she also may be pilifera or some other species.

Update:
The major is now a pupae! I’m super excited. Both the recently caught queens have eggs :yahoo:. The pheidole tysoni colony continues to grow. I fed them an almond and they actually ate it! hopefully next update we’ll have a major. Sorry I forgot my macro lense :( so I don’t have any photos.
