is me or ants show facial expressions ? lol is like you can tell when they're happy, scared or just tired

I think almost all of their communication is scent based. Insect behavior can seem so weird because they don’t inhabit a visual world like we do, but an olfactory one.

no no hahaha, no i mean for example if you tab the test tube you can actual see how they get startled in a "what the heck was that" kind of way

It depends on how fast they move their antennae and how wide their mandibles are open
