How do you know that the queens can get the water? To me the cotton sometimes looks dry. Do you all open these test tubes and push the cotton deeper?

Thoughts? Opinions? Tips?

Don’t touch the cotton. It’s cotton, if part of it is wet it’s all wet. It can be a little deceptive at times.

It is important not to stuff too much cotton into the water side. I use a little less than half of a standard size cotton ball.

When I make them I just push the cotton in until the whole peice is visibly wet.
