are you trying to get a California native ant to host in an ant plant?
Whike that would be a cool project that I would like to do I am not. All the details I can give currently are in the original post and I will show you guys when I start.
Solenopsis xyloni seems good for the small species. They grow fast and can tolerate pretty much anything. As for the large species, camponotus or novomessor may work.
Thanks, what Camponotus species would be best. Or would N. cockerelli work just fine.
