Funny, I forgot to mention that. I updated it. Yes, most have workers now.

Cool. How many workers? Just wanted to gather some data on these, I'm trying to build somewhat of a database for development records and this would be very useful.

-1x Parasitic Formica Sp. Colony

-1x Pogonomymrex Californicus Colony

-1x Camponotus Hyatti Colony

They have about one to two workers each.

Why did they come out of hibernation so late?

Why did they come out of hibernation so late?

They were in hibernation for a little over four months.

My colony seems to produce only brownish workers, and I noticed you had the same thing pop up with a major. Any idea as to what is causing it?

Update 6-8-2019

All but one of these colonies from last year died, and I ended up selling the last one.

On June 6th, I found one more of these a little ways past Angelus Oaks, about 6500 feet up in the mountains.

Update 12-4-2023

Well I found just one of these in Mount Baldy this year and kept it. I think I missed the main mating flight.

The colony is doing about the same as they always do for me, with only seven workers so far. They have a pretty large cocoon that should be eclosing soon.

I just put these into hibernation yesterday.
