Heyy, I have a Messor b. Queen with 20 worker ants for 2 weeks now.
My question is: they collected a lot of seeds into their test tube.
Do i have to remove it myself every few weeks or will they do it by themselves before it gets fungus.

I connected the test tube to an arena.

They naturally do that. Their common name is harvester ants (I'm pretty sure) and they collect seeds in there nest.

So I'd think they have a way to keep the seeds clean by themselves. Leave the seeds in there.

Thnx for the fast reply.
I'll leave it for now but will keep an eye on it every few weeks before it gets fungus.

I'd wait .. they usually will eat them and then create a trash pile. Hopefully they'll choose a place that makes it easy to clean.
