if your interested in catching a queen, I highly recommend to go to Griffith park. i went 2 weeks ago and there where Pogonomyrmex Californicus and Barbatus E V E R Y W H E R E. the higher you got in elevation, the more you saw. if you do end up going, keep an eye out for Camponotus Sansabeanus cause they where also pretty abundant. also, raid the container store of all of their vials cause your gonna need every single one.

keep in mind that i did go a few weeks ago, so not sure if the same activity is still going on, but Pogonomyrmex flights should be starting up full throttle in may.

I’m in the bay so I can’t sadly

Bummer! Good luck finding a colony.

Ants are Pets, not Pests.

-Camponotus sansabeanus

-Camponotus US-CA02

-Camponotus vicinus

-Formica podzolica

-Monomorium spp.

-Pogonomyrmex californicus

-Solenopsis spp.

I heard that Pogonomyrmex flew recently, does anyone have any queens for sale?

What state are you in?  they have been flying in CA over the last couple of days.   I got 4 queens yesterday.

Where'd you get them?
