I had this Idea that it would be cool to have a Book/Field guide dedicated to Ants in california only, so I can see their characteristics, where they live, and if i come across some, I could Identify them. can anybody recommend me a book? thanks!

There is not one that I am aware of, therefore antweb would be your best bet.
