I was flipping some rocks looking for termites and I found these isopods. They look like porcellio scaber? but albino? Or are they just molting. I've had them for a few days and there color is the same. The other 2 I caught are grey. Could I somehow breed these to all be one color? Thanks.

I'm guessing they just molted very recently. Are they still that color? Has it been darkening if they are?

I don't think they are darkening.

Interesting. Ponerinecat may know something. I'm not very experienced with isopods at all.

Porcellio laevis, albino/white versions are very common in the hobby. The species has basically had every possible color morph bred out of it. The ones you found arent truly albino, just very light.

Okay so it's common to find them like this in the wild?

Not really, but it's nothing special either.

Okay. Could I breed them to try to get them all white?
