Virginia is incredibly diverse in all sorts of plants and animals. It is the southernmost point for northern species and the northernmost point for some southern species. VA and TN have the highest diversity of salamanders on the PLANET.

I am very new to this forum, but I would definitely suggest tetramorium. The queens are super easy to find, and the workers are pretty bad at climbing on smooth surfaces like glass and plastic. However, they do have stingers, but the stingers are super small, and the sting does not really do anything to humans, other than being itchy for less than a day.

I think that's a good choice.  I really want crematogaster!  Maybe next year I'll be lucky enough to catch a flight.  I have some near my house with some really cool coloration.
