Please tell me if you find anything out. If you find any next year I'll take them. One of my favorite ants. Sadly my hopes of getting them are very low.

Sometimes I go find Nurb's post about them so I can stare at the pic of one of the majors he found and dream of owning them. I feel like I'd have to drive super far to get them.  :*(

You guys should try snapping twigs for them. Colobopsis are arboreal.

In my opinion, your best options are to snap twigs and use a blacklight in areas with records, as colobopsis are night fliers and often come to lights.

From what I've heard, their flights take place in spring and fall at night. The only experience I have with them is catching a gasterless queen at 4 PM in late September.
