This is my first journal ever.

Location: Indonesia.

 

She flew in to my house around three weeks ago. Laid her first two eggs on November 10.

She likes to put her eggs under her gaster. 

She secretes some kind of formic acid i guess? all over the test tube (inside). Marking her nest / territory?
I'm not gonna lie, it smells so good. Just like flowers. 

 

Gave and tried to move her to 18x180mm test tube, but she chose 16x100mm.

I'm not gonna lie, you don't exactly have to be experienced to keep these but you need a lot of money to keep them i'm not even talking about fancy ant nests, in my opinion do like others did, get a huge aquarium and carve out some ytong and add a hydration source.

It's been almost 4 weeks now. No larva yet, just 2x more eggs than before. Is that normal for carebara diversa queen?

How often are you checking them? Carebara are known to be easily stressed, and perhaps stress is hindering the eggs' development. I would recommend only checking them once a month.

Once a week, just a quick peek and back to total darkness. Cotton is going brown and test tube is quite dirty (white translucent).
She keeps pulling the cotton (water reservoir). Maybe this is a sign that she wants to dig? Should i try to give her dirt / soil setup?

I think she's eating her eggs or she crushed it by accident? I need some advice here. Thanks.

Maybe try giving her some substrate or dirt to dig in. For a lot of easily-stressed species this helps them get settled in.

I tried man, but she gone now.
I gave and put her in a container with dirt to dig in. But she was restless, kept wandering around, didn't do any digging at all and stayed in the corner whole week. So i decided to put the original test tube in the container, and she went back inside.

Sorry man, she gone.



Should've given her dirt setup in the first place.
