I don't know what it is. I've been pretty depressed lately. Maybe stressed out from college. I am not sure what it is. Either way, I've lost a little bit of the drive or fire I had in ant-keeping. Maybe because there was no monsoon this year for a acromyrmex Versicolor hunt in California, or maybe because many of my Pogonomyrmex queens, 1 or 2 sol xyoloni, and Argentine queens have died or simply failed to lay eggs and died. I just have a bunch of empty home made leaf cutter formicariums sitting around. Such a sad scene. Either way, I am sorry if I couldn't get back to you as fast on the status of availablity of the queens you guys wanted. I have a few Pogonomyrmex colonies available for sale with some queens with a few nanitics a few months old, but all of the queens have stopped laying eggs, possibly due to the seasonal bromation. Either way, I hope I can get that drive and fire back again when the season begins to kick off again soon.

Keep your head up! Sleep well, excercise, and enjoy the natural world. There are OTC supplements that can help if you’re feeling too down.

I agree, there’s alway something wondrous in the natural world! Even in a pandemic I’m sure Southern California has flora and fauna that can still amaze! Think of this as your diapause. Regroup, recharge, and come back stronger in the spring! We’re all pulling for you!

hiking reduces stress. anything in the natural world seems to help.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8
