I received a colony of these with 7 workers and a small pile of larvae. I can't wait to get big majors out of these next year.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. -Proverbs 6: 6-8

Update 3-30-21

I caught 1 queen on the 28th at Whitney Canyon park. I am a little disappointed that I only found 1 so I will go to a trail on Thursday where I will find more. As for my other colony, I decided to sell. I wanted to be more focused on single queens I catch this year than a year old colony.

Update 4-11-21

Nurbs was nice enough to give me a queen of these yesterday. It has a few eggs already. The queen I caught 2 weeks ago has a few eggs that will turn into larvae in about a day or so.

Update 5-17-21

Both queens I have are doing fine. The queen I caught has 2 pupae, a few larvae and like 2 eggs. Not too many eggs. The other queen I have is doing pretty slow. It only has 4 small/medium size larvae and a pile of eggs. I also noticed that the queens look different from each other. The queen I caught was much bigger than the vicinus I found at the same spot so I'm pretty sure they aren't vicinus. I was told to wait till workers to try to ID so for now I can't do much.
